Alvar Aalto was a Finnish visual artist who was born in 1898. Alvar Aalto has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and at the The Museum of Modern Art. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including '‘Paimio’ armchair, model no. 41/8-2, designed for the Tuberculosis Sanatorium, Paimio' sold at Phillips London 'Design' in 2013 for $38,300. There have been Numerous articles about Alvar Aalto, including 'All's Fair in London' written by Emma Crichton-miller for The Wall Street Journal in 2011. The artist died in 1976.
