Charles Deas was a 19th Century American visual artist who was born in 1818. Charles Deas has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Denver Art Museum. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Dragoons Crossing River' sold at Christie's New York 'IMPORTANT AMERICAN PAINTINGS, DRAWINGS AND SCULPTURE' in 2002 for $174,500. There have been Several articles about Charles Deas, including 'Recalled From Obscurity' written by Barrymore Laurence Scherer for The Wall Street Journal in 2010. The artist died in 1867.
