Clementine Hunter was a 19th Century American visual artist who was born in 1887. Clementine Hunter has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the The Bowers Museum of Cultural Art and at the California College of the Arts Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Melrose Plantation' sold at Neal Auction Company 'Summer Estates Auction' in 2011 for $14,938. There have been Numerous articles about Clementine Hunter, including 'Man Sentenced to Two Years in Prison for Selling Fake Clementine Hunter Paintings' written by Michael H. Miller for New York Observer in 2012. The artist died in 1988.
