Mexican artist, Diego Rivera, starting tapping into his artistic expression at a young age, and from there traveled Europe to develop his technique and continue his studies. Upon returning to Mexico, Rivera became a member of the the Mexican mural program which assisted in the establishment of his style. In the following years, He associated himself with political parties and used his art as a form of expression, to communicate the political narrative of the Mexican Communist Party. Rivera's work was full of life, color and expression, and as a result of his extreme beliefs, his work became controversial and ultimately affected his reputation and future commissions.
