Edgar Degas was a 19th Century French visual artist who was born in 1834. Edgar Degas has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the The National Gallery, London and at the Fondation Beyeler, Basel. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Danseuse au repos' sold at Sotheby's New York 'Impressionist & Modern Art Evening Sale' in 2008 for $37,042,500. There have been Numerous articles about Edgar Degas, including 'One Facet of Quintessential Degas' written by Judy Fayard for The Wall Street Journal in 2012. The artist died in 1917.
