Francis Bacon was an Irish visual artist who was born in 1909. Francis Bacon has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the de Young Museum and at the National Galleries of Scotland. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Triptych, 1976' sold at Sotheby's New York 'Contemporary Art Evening Auction' in 2008 for $86,281,000. There have been Numerous articles about Francis Bacon, including 'In London, New Stars and New Bidders' written by Kelly Crow for The Wall Street Journal in 2011. The artist died in 1992.
