John Constable was a 19th Century British visual artist who was born in 1776. John Constable has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the The National Gallery, London and at the Tate Britain. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'The Lock' sold at Christie's King Street 'Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale' in 2012 for $36,189,882. There have been Numerous articles about John Constable, including 'From Monet to Constable: famous paintings of autumn - in pictures' written for The Guardian in 2012. The artist died in 1837.
