John Hoyland was a British visual artist who was born in 1934. John Hoyland has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the The Ian Potter Museum of Art and at the Watters Gallery. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including '17.7.69' sold at Lyon & Turnbull 'Deloitte Art Collection' in 2008 for $303,240. There have been Numerous articles about John Hoyland, including 'Channeling American Abstraction' written by Karen Wilkin for The Wall Street Journal in 2010. The artist died in 2011.
