Kate Gilmore is an American artist who was born in 1975. Kate Gilmore has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Cleveland and at the Sean Kelly Gallery. Kate Gilmore was born in Washington D.C. in 1975 and lives and works in New York, NY. Recent exhibitions include the Whitney Biennial, Whitney Museum of Art, New York, New York; Public Art Fund, New York, New York: Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York; PS1/MoMA, Queens, New York; The Kitchen, New York, New York. She has been the recipient of several international awards and honors, such as the Rome Prize from the American Academy in Rome, Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Award, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Award for Artistic Excellence, the Franklin Furnace Fund for Performance, The LMCC Workspace Residency, New York, New York, New York Foundation for The Arts Fellowship, and the the Marie Walsh Sharpe Space Residency, Brooklyn, New York. Her work is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, Whitney Museum of Art, New York, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, New York, and Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA), Chicago.
