Pieter Lastman was a Dutch visual artist who was born in 1583. Pieter Lastman has had several gallery and museum exhibitions, including at the The Israel Museum, Jerusalem and at the Museum Het Rembrandthuis. Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including 'Sacrifice of Manoah' sold at Sotheby's New York 'Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of J. E. Safra' in 2011 for $410,500. There have been Several articles about Pieter Lastman, including 'Where to Meet Some Angels' written by Rachel Wolff for The Wall Street Journal in 2011. The artist died in 1633.
