Fletcher 235.ii. Edition 150 in this state (total edition about 160). Italian Series #20. Illustrated: Fine Prints of the Year, 1932. A rich impression on subtle blue/green laid paper. Signed, dated, titled inscribed 'II' and annotated 'sp' and dedicated 'To Dicky from Johnny, 1957' in pencil. With the artist's stamp 'collection John Taylor Arms'. The formal name is the Palazzo Santa Sofia, on the Grand Canal, Venice. It is known as the golden house bceause of the gilt and polychrome external deorations that once adorned its walls. Awards: 1932: Member's Prize, Twenty-second Annual Exhibition, Chicago Society of Etchers, Art Institute of Chicago. 1932: Frank Silva Prize, Twelfth Annual Exhibition, Southern States Art League, Highland Park Society of Arts, Dallas, Texas, 1932.
