CHEYENNE * On August 15 the second annual Wyoming Plein Air show and sale unfolds at The Link Gallery and Deselms Fine Art. Invited artists fan out across the city and surrounding landscapes to depict historic buildings, storefronts, botanical gardens, parks, and prairies. The show is on view through September 30. Celebrating 31 Years

HELENA * More than 50 top artists gather here in the state capital for the 31st annual Western Rendezvous of Art this month. A gala awards banquet, show, sale, and an array of seminars take place August 20-23. This year's seminars feature speakers such as attorney Bill Frazier, a nationally recognized art-law specialist, and painter Carolyn Anderson. Another highlight is a keynote address at the gala by Ed Trumble, founder of the Leanin' Tree Museum of Western Art in Boulder, CO. Plein-air painters capture the mountain terrain

ESTES PARK * Magnificent scenery is a sure thing for the artists who gather in Estes Valley near Rocky Mountain National Park for the annual Estes Park Plein Air show and sale this month. Painters from across the country converge to paint on location for two weeks in the picturesque terrain, ranging from forests to the Big Thompson River canyons. The public is invited to watch the artists create, then view the results in a show and sale that opens August 29 at both the Cultural Arts Council of Estes Park Fine Art Gallery and Earthwood Collections. IN THE NEWS Mountain Trails Gallery has moved from its location on Center Street to the town square in Jackson, WY. The gallery now boasts 5,500 square feet of exhibition space, which is considered the largest exhibition space in town. Mountain Trails also welcomes a cadre of exciting new artists, including Tammy Callens, Troy Collins, Stephen Datz, Trey Finney, Grant Hacking, William Smith, Ron Stewart, Terry Samples, Tom Saubert, Brigitte Woosley, and Mark and George Lundeen.
