WARHOLS (PLUS TWENTY SERVINGS OF SOUP ON THE SIDE) showcases groundbreaking artworks created by
Andy Warhol throughout his artistic career. Apart from rare trial proof prints from the Endangered Species (1983), Martha Graham (1986) and Camouflage (1987) series, the show presents the complete portfolio sets of Campbell’s Soup I (1968) & II (1969), Flash-November, 22, 1963 (1968), Electric Chairs (1971), Mao (1972), Myths (Trial Proof 1981) and Hans Christian Andersen (Trial Proof 1987). Most of the works in the show are seen for the first time in Singapore; the art audience here will have an exciting opportunity to appreciate the historical Birmingham Race Riot (1964), Kiss (1966), Lincoln Centre Ticket (1967), Daily News CA. (1967), SAS Passenger Ticket (1968), KIKU (1983) and Ads (1985) as well as unique screenprints such as Gun CA. (1982), Querelle (1982) and Diana Vreeland Rampant (1984). The show also presents the memorabilia of the artist such as the Souper Dress, Dossier of the Thirteen Most Wanted Men (1964) and signed editions of Interview magazines and his book Popism: The Warhol ‘60s (Harper & Row 1983). Canvas works from the mid 1980s such as Moon Explorer Robot (1983), Campbell’s Soup Box-Chicken Noodle (1986) and the iconic Rebel without a Cause (James Dean, 1985) will be presented as well.
