40th Anniversary Exhibition
Welcome to our 40th Anniversary Exhibition Catalogue. It’s been a long time in coming…forty years to be precise. It is a pleasure to do this kind of thing, but equally maddening. Editing is one of the hardest things to do, but it is also the process by which clarity comes to collecting. It allows you to shed light on what it is that you are actually doing, and have actually done as a gallery owner. You know that you are not quite a collector, yet you collect; and that you are not quite a curator, though you assemble groups of things into a coherent whole. There is satisfaction in creating this order…which artists? Which works? In what sequence?
