Eye Candy: Objects of Wonder and Delight is a selection of over 40 paintings, sculptures and photographs from the 18th through the 20th centuries. Featured artists include
Jan Breughel II,
William Michael Harnett,
Robert Mapplethorpe,
Henri Matisse,
Pablo Picasso,
Yinka Shonibare and
Andy Warhol. The out-of-the-ordinary assortment of works come together to form such themes as table settings; flowers, fruits and vegetables; fish; and works in three dimensions. Still-life works celebrate the significance of even the most mundane aspects of daily existence. They embrace a moment in time and create a memory that combines real life and its representation in art. Organized by the Norton Museum of Art. This exhibition is made possible in part through the generosity of Harold and Anne Berkley Smith.
