Helmut Klewan, a former gallerist from Munich, has gathered a unique collection of hundreds of fine art pieces by significant 20th-century European artists. His interest is mainly Austrian post-war art. The exhibition, which will be presented first in Kunstsammlungen und Museen in Augsburg and after that in the Belvedere gallery in Vienna, will introduce artists that have never before exhibited in the Czech Republic.
The exhibition will present over 150 works of art by 60 artists from Helmut Klewan's private collection. His collection includes exceptional works of classic Modern art, among which is a significant collection of Austrian post-war art. The collection includes paintings, prints and sculptures by Albert Giacometti, Pablo Picasso, Giorgio de Chirico, Kurt Schwitters, Jean Dubuffet, Francis Bacon, Maria Lassnig, Arnulf Rainer, Günter Brus and many other world-famous artists.
