Hand-Made: Drawings from Nationalmuseum

Feb 11, 2010 - May 16, 2010
Hand-Made will be an exhibition about the significance of hand-drawing and how it is currently staging a comeback. As a reaction to the digital movement of the 1990s, we are now seeing great media interest in all things handmade. We have invited Stina Wirsén, an illustrator, to conduct a dialogue with past and present. The exhibition will focus on people from a gender perspective, using fashion images, portraits and children’s book illustrations to show how the gender norms have varied over the centuries. The artists featured will include Rafael, Angelica Kaufmann, John Bauer, Albrecht Dürer, Ernst Josephson, Hanna Pauli, Rembrandt, Björn Berg, Gunna Grähs, Berthe Morisot and Carl Larsson.
