Milena Dragicevic: Pampero
Galerie Martin Janda is pleased to announce the fourth solo show of Milena Dragicevic.
As in her previous work, the paintings of the Pamero Series are a bricolage, an amalgamation trying to capture the passage of parts or forms within the parameters of a single image. The same applies for the prints on paper. Dragicevic uses material from different sources – stills from youtube videos, blow ups from pictures she finds in books, rendered through the process of photographing them with her iphone, altering them in various ways and thus creating an image.
The artist is interested in the instability of the image, in creating ambiguous moments. She employs a code of abstraction with one foot in reality, with references in the real world (though it isn’t imperative that the viewers can capture these references).
