Nov 26, 2010 - Nov 28, 2010
The Modern Masters private selling exhibition of Impressionist and early 20th century art is a first ever initiative by our 265 year-old-firm, recognising the enormous role Asian collectors now play in the continuing evolution of the art market. Eastern aesthetics and precepts were a major factor in the creation of the first great Modern movement in Western Art: Impressionism. Monet, Renoir and their colleagues were avid admirers and collectors of Asian arts, and their inspiration and creation left an indelible impression on art history. Modern Masters is a testament to this centuries old interchange between East and West of art and commerce.
