Exhibition celebrates NASA’s 50th anniversary with 72 works from the NASA Art Program and the National Air and Space Museum. The archives range from the illustrative to the abstract, featuring original paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture and other media by artists including Annie Leibowitz, Nam June Paik, Robert Rauschenberg, Norman Rockwell, Doug and Mike Starn, Andy Warhol, William Wegman and Jamie Wyeth. The artists featured in the exhibition were commissioned by NASA to create works of art that embodied the accomplishments, excitement and setbacks of space exploration. On loan from the Smithsonian Institution’s Traveling Exhibition Services.
