Exhibiting works by nineteen artists, many unified by a rise to prominence in the 1980s, these significant works trace the origins and evolution of the Pictures Generation, the return to figuration, and neo-expressionism – featuring works by Georg Baselitz, George Condo, Willem de Kooning, Eric Fischl, Keith Haring, KAWS, Martin Kippenberger, Yves Klein, Jeff Koons, Barbara Kruger, Robert Mapplethorpe, Joan Miró, Albert Oehlen, Joyce Pensato, Richard Prince, David Salle, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, and Christopher Wool.
