Taste
Taste! highlights some of the contemporary art collected on behalf of the city in the last 21 years. Based in Gallery 2 at GoMA, the exhibition provides a history of collecting using some objects added and, crucially, aims to explain some of the thinking behind its acquisition.
Taste! shows works by Andy Warhol, Beryl Cook, Douglas Gordon and more which will be displayed alongside archive materials related to the collecting of the objects. The exhibition aims to show how GoMA and Glasgow Museums curators have approached collecting over the years and explores their influences and reasoning.
Many of the works on display in Taste! have not been shown alongside each other before, creating an exhibition that offers a new experience for every visitor to GoMA. A BBC documentary about the Gallery of Modern Art is also part of the exhibition.
