The Storage

Jun 02, 2023 - Jul 15, 2023

La Galería MPA / Moisés Pérez de Albéniz is pleased to show the last exhibition of the season, titled “The Storage”. Programming exhibitions is one of the most interesting and creative parts of our profession (there are some who think that being a gallery owner is not a profession, but a vocation). The close association with religion seems excessive to me, I have never imagined myself wearing a cassock and a collar.

Besides jokes, I love to have a drawer of ideas in my desk where I develop or destroy them little by little. “The storage” has been in that drawer for a long time, trying to improve in order to carry it out. Bringing the storage to the gallery space isn’t an original idea, but the originality is given by the works that have been stored for many years.

There’re many artists, some belong to the gallery team, and others have come to this “storage” in many different ways: trips, fairs, galleries around the world that I have visited, even changes with other works of art dealers, artists, etc.. The selection of artists is very extensive and belongs more to the life of the gallery owner than to curatorial intentions.

This exhibition doesn’t pretend to be a group show of artists, but it is. It doesn’t pretend to be a show of past, present or future art, but it is. What it does pretend to be is a different exhibition for you to enjoy from beginning to end. A great end of the season for my friends.
