Warhol and the World of Pop Art

Following on from the success of The Lightbox’s 2011 British Pop Art exhibition, we turn to International Pop Art which will feature some of the world’s most famous artists such as Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Claes Oldenburg. The exhibition will explore how these artists sought inspiration from subject matter such as comic books, pop music, advertising, Hollywood films and branded packaging to create dynamic new ways of making and presenting art. The emerging fashions of the 1960s, key graphic and interior designs, furniture, memorabilia and iconic posters will also feature in the exhibition which will be a celebration of this rich, colourful and influential period.
