Even the kitchen sink is for sale
Damian Weinkrantz, a Philadelphia-based artist and curator, hopes you'll come over to his place to hang out today. His apartment has three rooms- a living room, a bedroom, and a kitchen- and comes fully equipped with a wooden stove, a foam and fabric sink, and a fridge made of papier-mâché. (No, this isn't something out of a Michel Gondry film.) Weinkrantz has curated a new group exhibition at the Fuse Gallery, cutely tided Please Be Welcome, and die show- er, home- features a wide range of unique furnishings created by more dian 20 artists. Nope, no IKEA here- instead, the offerings include a kitschy dreamcatcher and quilt by Crystal Stokowski, origina] hand-painted album covers by Keith Greiman, VHS tapes of classic movies painted with watercolor (such as Rocky JJJ) by Abigail Bruley, and a skateboard made of bronze and aluminum by Jake Henry.
