For an artist who uses painting-inappropriate tactics in his practice and who claims to be making art even while riding his bicycle, to paint (aka ‘to compose’) atonally is not unlike denouncing any agreement we might have had with painting throughout its history.
CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo is presenting a solo exhibition by Radu Comșa (*1975, Sibiu, Romania; lives and works in Cluj-Napoca, Romania). This is the first solo exhibition of the artist in Israel.
The exhibition “Rubin’s Vase” proposes a unique dialogue between two contemporary artists from the west of the country, with a completely different approach to painting and image issues, whose unexpected resonance occurs in anti-representation.
