The museum holds the world’s largest collection of folk
art with more than 130,000 objects from more than 100 nations in permanent, changing, traveling and interactive exhibitions. Included are 106,000 objects from the Girard Foundation Collection; the Neutrogena Collection with more than 2,500 items; and the Hispanic Heritage Wing with the largest collection of Spanish colonial folk art in the United States.
Among the Museum’s extraordinary collections are 106,000 toys, textiles and traditional and popular arts from over 100 countries in the acclaimed Alexander and Susan Girard Collection. The 2,600 textiles, ceramics, carvings and other treasures in the Neutrogena Collection provide another valuable perspective on international folk culture. The museum’s diverse collections of Spanish colonial and contemporary Latino and Hispanic artworks represent Europe, Latin American
and the United States, including the museum’s home
state of New Mexico.
Now celebrating its seventieth anniversary, the Museum of International Folk Art has always drawn a remarkable range of visitors to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
