About Black Liquid Art

Black Liquid Art Gallery, Rome, currently presents a program dedicated to modern and contemporary African art, with a particular focus on artists whose practices have contributed to the evolution of the global art landscape. Over the past decade, the gallery has organized predominantly solo exhibitions while also developing thematic group projects exploring identity, memory, migration, cultural heritage, urban transformation, and contemporary social narratives. Its exhibition program has featured both historically significant artists and emerging voices from across Africa and its diaspora. Among the artists exhibited by the gallery are Esther Mahlangu, George Lilanga, Aboudia, Olamilekan Abatan, Owusu-Ankomah, Malick Sidibé, Seydou Keïta, and numerous other leading figures of African modern and contemporary art. The gallery has been active in promoting African artists to European and international audiences through exhibitions, publications, private collections, museum collaborations, auctions, and advisory projects. Several artists introduced or supported by the gallery have subsequently achieved significant international recognition and auction results. Located in Rome, Italy, Black Liquid Art Gallery specializes in modern and contemporary African art, offering collectors, institutions, and researchers access to a curated program that combines scholarly research, market expertise, and cross-cultural dialogue.
