Sense of Place brings together fourteen artists with far-reaching interests in the concept of “place” – their places of origin, as a defining quality for community, the instability of different spaces, and the emotional or imaginative connections to places. Each artist contributes to the thematic trajectory through their various exploration into labour, nostalgia, memory, visibility and displacement. In so doing, the exhibition and artists offer salient perspectives about the human experience and the relationship between our sense of place and the world views we develop throughout our lives.
