Carole Eisner: Summer Hues
Carole Eisner has worked with scrap and recycled metal for 40 years creating elegant, abstract forms welded in steel. She works with “the debris of our civilization,” reclaiming and reassembling disregarded fragments of buildings, bridges and automobiles into art. Often Eisner chooses to maintain her sculptures’ raw steel finish but the works in this presentation are painted with exuberant, lively colored automotive paint. The sculptures are large in scale and intended for public space. Their primary colors dazzle against natural backgrounds of their outdoor environments. For August, the height of summer, SEFA will focus on some of theses sculptures painted in red, blue, silver and multicolors.
