Mari Amman (b. 1984, Dixon, Illinois) is a multi-disciplinary international artist. Interested in resonances, she works with the platonic ideals and sublime to create art with reverence for beauty. Her inquiry into the ways places make people invite viewers to consider their relationships with nature and the sacred. Synthesising her foundational disciplines in music, dance, and design, while resourcing wisdom in kinesthesiology, ancient myths, and elemental theories, her work with somatics and technology engages the parietal aspects of perception through public art, installations, images (photography, video), textiles, and sculptures.
