Anya Tish first opened her gallery in 1996. Located at 4411 Montrose, in Houston’s bustling Museum District, the gallery has a global approach emphasizing works that address pertinent social and environmental issues. The gallery quickly earned acclaim for its groundbreaking contemporary art exhibitions in Houston, showing the works of established and emerging artists from around the world. The works of artists represented by the gallery have been acquired by influential private and institutional collections and have been reviewed in such publications as Art in America, Artforum, Glasstire, and The New York Times, among others. Works on exhibition at Anya Tish feature a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography and video, all linked by a strong correlation between concept and material.
